Garages Are For Cars? Get Out, Really?

I can’t safely walk in my garage. Seriously, I open the door and plot out the best path to my freezer. Perhaps some metal cabinets would help. My husband goes to the hardware store and buys stuff he already has because he can’t find anything. There are bags of just purchased items buried, especially caulk, we have to have about 47 tubes of the stuff. Look at this 11 Piece Garage Organization! Oh what we could do with that! I might actually be able to fit my car in the garage. Something that hasn’t been done in 10 years. Garages where originally made for cars, right?

The Homecoming Dance

I have two of my boys going to the Homecoming Dance this year. So cute! I have a Senior and a Sophomore. So I get to drive the Sophomore and his date. I promise to do my best not to embarrass the poor kid. I can't believe my baby is going to his first dance. See, that there would embarrass him, must be careful. I love the line in the movie Water Boy, where Cathy Bates is Adam Sandlers mom and she says, "I'm the onliest woman in my boys life, women are the devil!"
Oh, and we are getting another dance out of the suit I bought for the Senior when he was a Sophomore. That's 3 dances and 2 weddings, more than got my moneys worth there baby!

Go Fer This, Go Fer That, Get Organized Already!

So another weekend of home improvement is over. I'm beginning to dread the weekends. We would have been done with this major project if we had some descent garage storage because half of our time is spent looking for tools. No, half of my time is spent looking for tools because my husband can’t remember where he put them. I’m the gopher girl. Go fer this, go fer that! Someone needs to get this guy organized and of course it’s me.

The Raking Has Begun

Yardwork sucks. I started raking some leaves and acorns yesterday. Yep acorns. You can not walk in my backyard without stepping on acorns. Actually, in some parts of the yard you can call it hazardous. Like the cartoons where gumballs are thrown on the ground to escape the villain. The acorns falling from the trees have also become an accident waiting to happen. So really, you are taking you life in your hands walking in my backyard. Maybe I should start handing out football helmets when we have company.

I Have to Sort This Out

My car window is shattered. On the drivers side. The one I was sitting right next to while driving. I don't know how I want to approach writing about this. It happened Tuesday evening, it is now Friday. There was a small hole at the top of the window. I called my husband and 911. The police called an ambulance because my neck was bleeding.
I have referred to this "incident" in other posts. I thought it necessary to explain. But I am at a loss for words. Humor is a big part of my blogging and this isn't funny. Perhaps at a later date I can elaborate, but right now most of what I'm feeling is going to stay with me for now. I'm going to sort this out. There is a police investigation going and I should probably keep my mouth shut anyway.

In Need of a Better Weighing Scale

I got burned on a sale I made at one of my online stores. I’m embarrassed to say I made 10 cents. And the problem was the shipping, of course. I seriously need to look into weighing scales. The one that I have is suppose to weigh food, it has a bowl on it. If I’m going to take online selling seriously I should probably have the right equipment.
I was thinking that a digital scale would be much more accurate and reliable. I don’t need to be losing any more money. It makes me cranky. So I have something else to add to my list of things to do.

I Was Right!

In my other blog, View of Sue, I have been blogging about some of the season premiers on TV this week. I totally called who would be kicked off Dancing With the Stars. In fact I had the last two picked. Check it out at the View of Sue. I plan on reviewing House tomorrow. The problem is we had a storm last night and I missed ten minutes at the end of the episode. Any body care to fill me in?
I'm off to my hangout The Crabby Host tonight. Care to join me?

Keep an eye on goingTODAY.com

As I continue to compose my holiday shopping list I run across idea after idea. I have three sons and two of them are music geeks. They both play the guitar and yes they plan on forming a band. I found a site called goingTODAY.com. So cool! This site features a new item everyday and it’s usually an item geared towards the musician geek. They change the featured item at midnight every night. I’m keeping an eye on these bargains.

I'll Get Out My Exorcist Face

Have you ever done the reminiscing thing with your siblings while sitting around the kitchen table about dear ol' mom and dad? My kids do it right in front of my face. I found out not to long ago that I have an exorcist face. This is the face that comes out when they get in trouble, big time trouble.
My mom use to talk between her clenched teeth when she was super pissed at my brother and me. And we made fun of her all the time. Oh God!

I'm Calling Hotel Reservations

Boy do I need to get away! It’s only Wednesday but what a week I have had so far. We didn’t have water Monday night, I had the school calling me and telling me my son is not there only later call me and say whoops wrong kid, my car window got shattered by God knows what last night, the Police think it may have been a pellet gun. I have rain coming through the roof, oh and the power went out last night so we missed the last 10 minutes of the House premier. If anyone saw it would you like to fill me in on how House got his guitar back?

I’m calling Hotel Reservations. My husband is stressed out, I need to get him away too. Maybe I could talk him into a Bed and Breakfast, the prices at Hotel Reservations are very reasonable. The trick is to find a Bed and Breakfast that is situated near a Casino. When my husband goes on a get-away there has to be a Casino involved. He loves to play blackjack! I know I will be able to find what I’m looking for at Hotel Reservations. Whether we want a flight, need to rent a car or find a hotel. They have worldwide destinations, I don’t know if I’d be able to talk my husband into a major out of the county vacation though. I could give it a try. Hotel Reservations website is very easy to navigate, travel information is at your fingertips and they have an 800 number for you should you have any questions or problems.

All this planning can be done via the internet which is a good thing, it’s raining outside and I have no car window. I hope the rest of my week is uneventful.

Coffee Please?

I was brought down from my weekend high in a hurry. I had to go to the bank and straighten them out. Boy #2 has been doing his own banking since he was 16. You show him something once and he needs no further instruction. Independence is what he strives for. He just always seems to get the new teller who always gives him a hard time. But he pleads his case in a loud, irritated voice and gets his way, just this once, next time we need your mothers signature. Uh huh. This teller told him he needed a checking account. Perhaps when he's out of High School and has a full-time job and some bills. But right now how about you not undermine my parental influence of trying to teach this kid how to save money? What do ya say?
i
After I straightened out the bank, I treated myself to a double mocha, got home to blog and oh so looking forward to the season premier of Heroes. he! The premier got closer and I hustled the kids through their evening problems. Finding socks, homework, oh I had to feed them and the dog and then the husband that came during Dancing with the Stars. Get in the shower!
i
There was only air coming out of our faucets. Denial set in and as we tried every faucet. The first thing my husband says to me, "Did you pay the bill?" and I replied, "Heroes is on in 30 minutes, don't mess with me." The neighbors didn't have water either. Everyone knows the look I gave my husband after that bit of information.
i
I'm a planner. In every closet of my house you will find at least 3 gallons of water. Yeah, we won't get into all that today. We really weren't bothered by the water issue. Thank God I have boys! They don't care if they shower or not. My dad came over for water at about 10:30.
i
Back to Heroes. The world of technology saved me again. I have Direct TV and I can record programs, which I did. I just had to keep pausing. I hope to get on over to my other blog View of Sue and review Heroes and Dancing with the Stars later this morning. After a few more cups of coffee and maybe I'll go out and get another double mocha.

Can I just sit today, I'm tired?

I had a great weekend! Dinner with friends Friday night was wonderful. We gabbed and lost track of time. It was so good to see them again. You guys know who you are. You better be checking my blog! I have to get out more. After Saturday night though, I'm not sure my husband will let me! LOL! The big surprise party was for my sister-in-law, her 40th. There were two punch bowls, one had note on it that said punch and the other said adult punch. Wow, was that adult punch good! That was the closest to being hammered that I've been in a long time. Sunday was a productive day. We got a lot done on the house and then had a bonefire in the backyard. I'm looking forward to just sitting in front of my computer today.
I reserve the right to elaborate on this weekend at a later date. I need more coffee!

Wow, I Have Weekend Plans

I actually have a full weekend planned. I am going out for dinner tonight with friends I haven't seen in months. We went to grade school together! We've managed to stay semi-in-touch all these years. I had a picture of all of us from the last time we got together but lost it when my other computer crashed. I hope I remember to take my camera tonight!
Tomorrow night, well I'm not allowed to say because it's a surprise party. The party person has my blog url and I don't want to ruin the surprise! And then my usual Sunday dinner, when the kids all are home with extra kids because they know I'm cooking.

Maybe it's Time for a New Camera

My online stores have been seriously neglected this week! I need to get busy listing some items. I have to get some pictures taken. I thought my digital camera was broken the other day, it turns out I just needed new batteries. Then I got to thinking, what if my camera was broken? It’s old.

I remember when I was just out of High School I bought a Canon AE1 and dabbled in photography. I took some pretty cool pictures. I got myself a zoom lens and a wide angle lens. My friend and I would go to the park and try to take some wildlife shots. Good times!

Now the world’s gone digital. I need to make quality digital picture frames for my online stores. I decided to stick with Canon. I really liked my AE1. I have been reading up on the Canon PowerShot A560. It’s reasonably priced and compact.
i
I also have some important events coming up this summer and I need to have a reliable camera. A son graduating and a son getting married! Oh boy!

Hey! Thank you!

I think someone voted for my T-Shirt. I'm only allowed to vote for it once a month. I should say one vote a month is allowed from your IP address. So I go to the library and vote and my sister-in-laws. But I think I have an unaccounted for vote. So whoever voted thank you. This t-shirt has been at T-Shirt Countdown for years and I have been voting for it all this time hoping to get some sales at CafePress. You know a little free advertising can't hurt! If you can't see it, it says, "Under Surveillance (just act normal)" and it's made to look like someone has pinned a note to the back of a t-shirt. hehe!

My Husband Needs Some Persuading

I’m trying to talk my husband into taking some short breaks during the winter so it doesn’t seem to incredibly long. Yes, here I go again, planning ahead. Winter can go on forever sometimes. We can find a cheap flight somewhere warm for a long weekend break. The older I get the more unbearable the long winter weather seems. Dial A Flight calls these trips City Breaks. Let’s see, so many cities to choose from. Which one do I talk my husband into first?

Mother Knows Best

When I was in High School selecting classes for the following year, my mother told me to take Typing I. Typing? Mom? Hello? I'm going to be an artist. She insisted. I learned to type my sophomore year. I'm not going to be a secretary, I kept telling myself, what am I doing this for?
My mother's insite into the future has been the best advice she ever gave me. And I've told her that several times. Now if I can just get her to understand what a blog is!

You do the Math

I took the easiest Math classes I could and squeaked by in school. Going by the old saying, “When am I going to need to know that?” There are several answers, here’s one. So you can help your kid with his Math homework! I can’t. So I have to hire Math Tudors. Seeing your child struggle and not be able to help is frustrating. Don’t put it off get them the help they need.

WooHoo! I made 10 cents!

I sold a low cost item at my eCrater store Farvel Clearance and screwed up on shipping. So I made 10 cents on that sale. I'm just shaking my head in disgust today. I need to start getting up earlier to get all that I need done. My stores are suffering because of my blogs.

I'm a list making and a schedule keeper. It's time for both of those. I'm starting with the Farvel Cargo store. That one is filled with tools and gadgets, you can get some holiday shopping done there for the guys on your shopping list. I should probably put that in my store description! I have to get to work.

Find Trusted Places

After a busy weekend of cooking and cleaning for my mothers birthday and having to step over my husbands tools while he remodeled the patio to accomplish a birthday dinner, I sure would like to be taken out tonight! If someone wanted to whisk me away to London all they would have to do is jiggle their keys and I’d be ready. Take me away to a few London Bars, I’m tired and needs some fun! Looks like fun doesn’t it?

Blog Flair, Do I Have Enough?

Remember the movie Office Space? Remember Jennifer Anistons character? She worked at a family restaurant and her boss was always explaining to her that she didn't have enough "flair". As I go deeper into the Blog World, as I visit other Blogs I've started to refer to all the buttons and whistles in the Blog columns as Blog Flair. I'm trying to sift through them which is turning into a full-time job! If anyone would like to leave me advice on the Blog Flair I would certainly appreciate it. What are the most important? Which will help me with traffic and rank? Dear God where do I start? Do I have enough flair?

Advice from a Mom of Three Boys

Reading is so important! If your child gets behind in reading it can set him or her back in all their classes. Take it from one who knows! I have experience with 3 boys learning to read. They just have other things on their busy little minds and with a classroom full of students a teacher can only do so much. As a parent you can take the bull by the horns and start your child off right with Score Educational Center and Reading Tutors.

Damn, I got a Baby Shower Invitation

I got the mail this afternoon and there was a small envelope mingling with the bills. Damn they got me! And invitation to a baby shower. I wonder what silly assed games we will play? I really hate bridal and baby showers. And there are so many reasons why. I think the biggest reason though, is that I have to go. Everyone went to mine. Yes, I was "showered" with gifts several times. If you want the toasters, pyrex, bath towels, hand-made crocheted afgans and baby booties you have to play the game. I have an engaged son and I will have to plan a bridal shower soon. Oh, as I address the envelopes I will be doing a Muahaha!

Should I start blogging about Television?

I watch so much TV. I may as well blog about it. All the season premiers are about to start. Should I use this blog or my other blog? Or maybe start a new one? Or get my own domain? I have a lot of sorting out to do since I entered the world of blogging. I'm trying to decide which direction my blogs should go because right now they are both about the same topics. And when I get a blogging idea I have to figure out which blog to put it on. That will be my main focus next week! Organizing!

The Day After Thanksgiving

They are calling the day after Thanksgiving Black Friday now? I never go shopping on that day. And if they are calling it Black Friday, it’s worse than I thought. I hate crowds. That’s why, as I’ve said in previous posts, I’m doing as much of my holiday shopping on line as possible. While searching the net I found a site called Black-Friday.net. Hah! Check it out, here is an ad for Kohl’s. All you do is submit your email address and they notify you when new Black Friday ads are posted. Here is a store list. There are quite a few stores.

Imagine doing your holiday shopping with a cup of coffee in your hand, sitting in front of your computer, listening to whatever music you like. As opposed to grabbing a lousy cup of coffee at the food court and not being able to take it in any stores, standing in line with a bunch of short tempered shoppers and listening to piped in holiday music.

Here’s the Circuit City ad. Lot of bargains! Black-Friday.net is making it too easy for us. What will we do with all are spare time after we get are shopping done? I suppose, baking, wrapping, sending out cards, cleaning the house……… Oh boy! Here come the holidays!

The Neighborhood Came Together Today

Oh my! The drama. Our nextdoor neighbors dog got loose. He's my dog's boyfriend. My dog, Buckeye, was very upset. You could tell he must have visited her after his escape because she kept looking back when I was taking her inside. I just didn't catch on soon enough. So the neighbor and I were out calling for the boyfriend dog and Buckeye fretted inside. Soon we had more neighbors join the search. The buses started dropping kids off after school and they became part of the search party. Everyone talked about what a little pistol he is and Buckeye paced and whined. She's in love. Two hours later the neighbors husband, who came home early from work, pulled into the driveway with one mangy looking, in trouble dog. Buckeye took a nap, it was way too much drama for her.

PayPerPost Has Sent Me in a New Direction

I jumped into the world of Blogging with both feet! Almost a month ago I found PayPerPost. Wow has that discovery change the direction of my life. Yes, the direction of my life. In less than a month I’ve made over $100.00. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but the potential to make more is there. When I’m not blogging I’m working on my traffic generation. Or I’m on the message boards finding out as much information as I can. And there is a lot of information!
i
I never thought someone would pay me for my words. Maybe I’m on a newbie high but seeing that green thumbs up symbol telling you that your post has been approved is exciting! What a sense of accomplishment for someone that got a C in English!

I Was Set Up

When a dog chases it's tail you have to stop and laugh, I don't care how many times you've seen it, it's worth another laugh. So when our dog decide to entertain the neighborhood my son called me to the window, "She's chasing her tail mom!" He said it in a hushed tone because the windows were open.
I was able to turn the air conditioner off because Northeast Ohio is experiencing a cold front, whatever, it's 65. So Boy #2 lured me to the open window. Do you see how the tone of this post completely changed? I'm at the window laughing at the dog, there is a guy jogging, just as he approaches our house Boy #2 whistles at him and ducks out of sight. There I am looking out the window with a big smile on my face as he looks up. My husband is in his recliner laughing along with Boy #2 and Boy #3 is laughing so hard Pepsi is coming out of his nose.
I was set up bigtime. I wonder how long they had been planning that one?

How We Do Business is Changing

I quit my job in February of this year to work at home. I use to work at a printing company. I was the graphic artist, nothing glamorous, I made a lot of forms to be printed. One of our clients was an event registration service. They planned conferences. They would set up a form, email it to me, call me with changes, I’d make the changes, send them a proof and then if we were lucky that was it and we would print! These clients would be at their event site and realize they didn’t have enough registration forms. They’d call us in a panic! They ordered more forms and would have to pay for the set up of the press again.
The internet is changing how we do business! Securely plan your conferences with regonline. They have a Level 1 PCI compliance. Your clients will be safe, secure and save money!

Christmas Shopping

My sister-in-law will be calling me soon for a Christmas list. She will want to know what my kids want for Christmas. I'm not even sure I have all their school supplies and I have to come up with a list?
I am starting to assemble a list of places to shop and as I've said before I plan on doing a lot of shopping online. I have so many online store owner friends. I have website links listed in the right column and look for that list to be growing. If you are looking for something, I probably have a friend that sells it!
I can't believe the gorgeous day outside my window! The dog and I are going to have to go on a walk! Maybe then she will be too tired to chew on my sandals.

I wanted to see if I was able to post a YouTube Vid on my Blog. And this classic is one of my favorites!

Add Pingo to your vacation packing list!

When you check into a hotel room and you have children the first thing the little darlings are going to do is …….. jump on the hotel beds of course! Even if they are 12 and 15. We were in our Niagara Falls (Canadian side) room for 15 minutes when the 15 year old body slammed the 12 year old onto the bed. My husband and I were still moving the luggage around when they both jumped up surprised and the 12 year old held up his right arm and terror was written on his face. Unintelligible sounds started to come out of his mouth.

Now, we were out of the country. When the arm started to swell I got on the phone. Nowadays you don’t call a doctor first, you have to call your insurance company. After every vacation we take, my packing list grows. Now on my list are ace bandages and prepaid calling cards. In addition to the insurance company I made calls to my doctor who was also on vacation so the answering service gave me another number to call. I called 2 different hospitals. And my mother!

Needless to say I could have used Pingo to make some cheap international calls. I could have saved up to 90%! When you sign up for Pingo you get 5 hours of International calls FREE! Special phone card blog discount coupon: “ppp3” valid for $3 off Pingo Receive $25 phone card for just $17. Yep, Pingo is on my list of things to pack when we go on vacation, but those kids are off the list!

My feet hurt!

And so does my neck! I have a pounding headache because I'm so hungry. That pizza guy will be here in 45 minutes to an hour, I just called him. So I decided to look busy and blog before my husband starts back to work on the house. Yes, I'm hiding from him. Why not, the kids do it. As soon as they see him put his toolbelt on they head for the hills.
My husband loves to construct. He is turning our patio into an all-year-round room. We built a wall today. WooHoo! There is talk of this room becoming my office. The complaining is kept to a minimum because I'd really like that room. As long as it's warm enough in the winter!

_______________________________
He found me! It started to rain and we had to put up some tarp. I'm going to watch for the pizza guy.

Is The LAP BAND System right for you?

The thought of weight loss surgery can be pretty overwhelming. But if you are thinking about it, do some investigating. Journey Lite has a website full of information. A page devoted to explaining the surgery with an animated video, very impressive! You can easily navigate Journey Lite’s website to find the information you are looking for and find out if The LAP BAND System is right for you.

I'm addicted to SIMS 2

I have no idea how this happened, but I'm addicted to SIMS 2. I used to play it every night, then the computer it was on crashed. An unfixable crash. I lost my entire community! I went through my SIMS 2 withdrawals and got really involved with making money online instead of playing games. You can see links to my online stores to your right. Well boy #3 got a computer and installed SIMS 2! Yikes!
I'm hooked again, strung out on SIMS 2. I can't make any money playing SIMS 2, can I? Please provide any information if I can!!! I must remain focused and get my online stores (to the right) ready for the holidays!

Yikes! Who should I vote for?

My husband was flipping through the channels last night, so annoying. He stopped on a Republican Debate and then he stayed on the channel. I didn’t realize how many candidates there are! Check out this Political Blog called Gimmie the Scoop. It shows you all the Republican Candidates and guess what? There are just as many Democrats. There is a little bit of background information on all of the candidates, so perhaps bookmarking Gimme the Scoop wouldn't be a bad idea. There is someone out there in blog land willing to try and sort through the Presidential Candidates.

Took the Dog for a Check Up!

It was time for my dog's "Comprehensive Exam" yesterday. I dropped her off at 9:30 am and didn't pick her up until 4:00 pm. Needless to say they checked everything. I had them cut her nails because she won't let me, they had to sedate her. I have a picture of her on the front page of one of my eCrater Stores here. That's the store that is in serious need of attention and I will be devoting my time to it today. I have several items to list and maybe slash some prices! When I'm not Blogging and fixing up my online store I will be at The Crabby Host stop by and see me!

I'm getting too old for this!

My husband and I decided to replace our own windows and side our house on our own. Actually it was more my husbands idea. I was more on the side of hiring someone for our home improvements. After almost a year, 2 trips to the emergency room, an ache in my upper back that won’t go away and teenagers that mysteriously disappear when dad puts on his tool belt, we are almost done!

It would have been great to have someone install all eight of our Double Glazing windows. Maybe let someone else worry about the heights you are afraid of, you know a professional. This is my last home improvement project! I’m getting too old for this!

How did Farvel Cargo get its name?

Every other month or so I feel the need to explain the name Farvel Cargo. I know it's weird. The following should shed some light on the puzzled gazes at my blog:
Eight people were sitting around our dining room table one Sunday afternoon eating homemade soup. To find out more...........
____________________________________
My list of things to do grows the more I wake up and I can't decide what to do first so I will stop by The Crabby Host and check in with my online store seller buddies, have lots more coffee and get to work. Let me know what you think of my name story okay?

Get it Done!

If I keep blogging about starting my holiday shopping early do you think I might actually do it? Start early I mean? I want to get it all done online. Boy I could really get a lot of my holiday online shopping done at www.couponchief.com. They have coupons for everything.

This is the first Christmas we will have with our dog! She will be spoiled! And I will use coupons from PETsMART. If you are going to online shop why not use a coupon? You can find something for the entire family at www.couponchief.com. Even those hard to buy for grandparents. I can get them an Entertainment Book and spread the coupon love!
i
It’s time to stop talking about all the shopping I want to do and get it done!

My favorite time of the day!

I'm sitting in front of my computer blogging with a glass of ice tea within reach and the dog is asleep at my feet. It just doesn't get any better than this. Well maybe if I had an email box full of sales from my eCrater Stores it would be a little better. Yeah, a little better! I didn't sell anything last week so I will probably be lowering some prices this week.

Now that summer is "officially" over, perhaps the shoppers will come out to play! Remember my tool store Farvel Cargo when you are shopping for the holidays. I have several items that would fill a stocking very nicely. And a lot of items under $10.00

Those kids will be home, soon upsetting my solitude. I'll put them to work, we have a dog that needs a bath!

I really screwed up!

Let me just say that this blog I use to help me with the look of my blog it is wonderful! It's pretty much a Blogging for Dummies site. I should say it's for Blogger.com blogs. Anyway this dummy is so scared of html especially after Thursday!
I tried to add a Digg button and I really don't know why, but everyone has one. Well I added the button and all the content of my posts disappeared. My words! Where are my words? I can laugh about it now. Because you can see my words can't you?
I left a desperate plea in bizwhiz's comment box and he responded right away. I'm going to practice on my other blog with all the html knowledge this guy's giving away free and then move to this one. But I wanted to pass this blog along to everyone in case you are looking for help!
Yes, I know there is a "preview" button for instances like this, but if I didn't have a little drama in my life and I wasn't such a dummy what would I blog about?
