Farvel Cargo's 10 Greatest Posts of 2010

Let me tell you, it was very hard to narrow them down to 10. What you should do is review the entire year of 2010, there are only 62 posts. That embarrasses me a little, I should have posted more.
But let's start the list:
These are in no particular order of greatness, that would take too much effort.
2.) Don't put Dad in a coma This one is my brother-in-laws favorite.
I based my list on 3 factors, my own valuable opinion, the comments the post received and the feedback from around my sister-in-laws dining room table.
8.) The Jury Duty Series
The list could not be complete without mention of the Scary Asian Dry Cleaning Dude.
You have a lot of reading to do, you better get started.
Have a wonderful 2011!
Happy New Year and thank you for reading my blog.

Are You Sss....Sss....Stupid or Somepin?

After screwing up my blog template yesterday and then today I leaned over in my car to turn down the stereo because I thought I smelled something and I wanted to, I don't know, get a better wiff with the music turned down? I decided I should start eating more fish. I mean it's the middle of the week, I should have a head full of active brain cells. Papercages suggested vodka, more vodka, but alcohol enhances stupidity and I've done somepin stupid two days in a row. I still have to straighten out my blog template.
Actually the blog looks like it did before the last time I screwed it up, this might take me a week or so, it needed updating anyway.

Things Left Unsaid

By the title of this post it almost looks like I'm going to get sappy. Not my style. After reviewing some of my previous posts, I've come to the realization that I left a few things up in the air. Like for instance:

1. My mom didn't get mad at me for shopping for a bra without her, but did get mad at me for blogging about it.
2. The Prom went off with hardly a hitch. The tuxedo looked exactly like last years, but with a blue vest instead of pink. I forgot to order a corsage and had to buy one that was made by mistake.
3. I'm still smiling at my new job.
4. Boy #3's "analyzed knee fluid" show some sort of trauma, in other words, he hurt it but doesn't want to tell me how he did it.
5. Someone stole some of my birthday chocolate and I think it was the damn diabetic. Mommy's babies know better - it was him.

There you have it. A recap of previous post. I'm pretending not to notice that no-one really commented to find out how things turned out. I'm sure you guys are really busy.

Cat Owning Guidelines

My evening job brings the crazy general public to me in droves. It's a bloggers dream. Most people try to avoid lengthy conversations with weird strangers, I cherish them, not so much if they smell but if they are a couple bricks short of a load and want to tell me about their goldfish swimming around in their bathtub, I'm all ears. A recent conversation left me thinking, "Huh, I wonder how many cats she has?"
Then I started to wonder, "How many cats do you have to have to be considered a kookamonga?"
Taking it a step further I decided to make some cat owning guidelines. Not being a cat owner and really not much of a cat person I fully expect to offend a few cat people. But you have to realize most people do not look at a woman in a house full of cats as normal by any means.

Cat Owning Guidelines:
1 cat - This is perfectly normal, therapeutic and you probably have lots of friends.
2 cats - It is socially acceptable to have two cats.
3 cats - If you keep adding cats, your friends will stop coming over, you know that right?
4 cats - Acceptable if you live on a farm.
5 cats -
You have just entered the realm of the crazy cat people, literature will be arriving in the mail soon.
6 cats - Your house smells like a liter box and you now wear a housecoat.
7 cats - I think by the time you have seven cats you can be classified kookamonga, no I know it.
8 cats - Some would ask you to seek help, I on the other hand, would encourage a conversation so I would have something to blog about.

Bringing Home Buckeye

So often the husband and I will be sitting in our recliners watching TV and the dog is laying in front of the fireplace, and we will both say we are so lucky we found her. Just a year ago we went to the local animal shelter to get the husband his “birthday present”. Together with Boy #3 we entered the “puppy room” cage after cage of jumping, barking puppies. Except one puppy pushed herself into the mesh cage and looked at us. It was as if she was saying, “Pet me and take me home, I like you guys.” The three of us just stood in front of the cage and stared back at her. Then she sat down and waited for us to make the first move. More people walked into the puppy room, Boy #3 and I looked at the husband with panic in our eyes. Sensing our fear the husband ran to claim her. I run into a pet blog every now and then and it makes me think of when we brought Buckeye home, never knowing back then how much this dog would mean to me.
